Well, How does it feel to wait?

Kind of hard to answer the question there Newbie. Don't know if the motor is N/A or turbo. Ported on non-ported? Running just an aftermarket header with stock carb or aftermarket header with after market carb. Or completley stock motor, bridgeported motor,PP port motor?

Well here's some instructions for the complete idiot that worked for me. The notch on the right is for the leading, make this line up with the pin on the engine when you have the timing light on the front leading plug wire.

The notch on the left is the trailing, make this line up with the pin while the timing light is hooked to the front trailing plug wire.

Also you can find good instructions in the Haines manual, about $15 at the auto store.

Good luck!

The timing settings that you are referring to are more of a performance tuning process than a standard tune-up job. It involves marking your front pulley every millimeter, then using those marks while revving the engine up to something like 4k rpm (to get total advance).

Otherwise, just make sure the idle speed is correct, then use the marks that are already there and you'll be alright...

I pm'd him this morning and instructed him to use the stock timing marks. I'm sure he already has her on the road.

For all the people that want to change their timing to other than stock. I recommend that you buy one of the digital advance lights. It's alot faster than doing the removal of the pulley and marking and in the end you wind up with a really nice timing light.
