Pilot bearing removal problems

I seem to be having prolems removing the pilot bearing.

Right now the innner race as well as the needle bearings are out and destoryed however the outer race is still in there and I have no idea how to get it out. Anybody have suggestions.

Thanks

I use a die grinder with a small carbide bur and cut 2 grooves 180* apart, not getting into the e-shaft. Then pry on the shell until it splits or loosens.

not trying to steal away business from yall or anything, but check out this thread it has some do's and dont's of removing it

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...=pilot+bearing

Trust me Ive been there that is my thread. What worked for me was the autozone one and grinded it down a little bit. Try what ever works best for you or your budget.

I made my own puller. Once you have the needles out it's so easy. Just takes a bit of lateral thinking. Grab an appropriately sized bolt and grind two sides of the head down and round the other two so it just fits under the race. Then using a large socket as a spacer you tighten the nut down and the race will pop straight out.

I tried your method REVHED, I think I may have done it a little wrong. But there is not much of a lip left for the bolt head to grab. It is getting chewed up badly. It moved it but popped the bolt out before the race. Could you draw/take a picture of looking at the bolt head.

I also tried the TP/grease method with no luck.

Holy hell this driving me mad. I think i might find the right tool.
