Pilot bearing removal problems
I seem to be having prolems removing the pilot bearing.
Right now the innner race as well as the needle bearings are out and destoryed however the outer race is still in there and I have no idea how to get it out. Anybody have suggestions.

if you dont do either 1 of thos your going to want to get some gas and a zip-O caz its going to **** you off if you try to get it out anyother way you can also you a pilot bearing remover from auto zone (you will have to grind it down a lil bit to get it tof fint thru the center of the bearing.......

Trust me Ive been there that is my thread. What worked for me was the autozone one and grinded it down a little bit. Try what ever works best for you or your budget.

I made my own puller. Once you have the needles out it's so easy. Just takes a bit of lateral thinking. Grab an appropriately sized bolt and grind two sides of the head down and round the other two so it just fits under the race. Then using a large socket as a spacer you tighten the nut down and the race will pop straight out.

I tried your method REVHED, I think I may have done it a little wrong. But there is not much of a lip left for the bolt head to grab. It is getting chewed up badly. It moved it but popped the bolt out before the race. Could you draw/take a picture of looking at the bolt head.
I also tried the TP/grease method with no luck.
Holy hell this driving me mad. I think i might find the right tool.

im going thru the same **** right now had my car running got the carb tuned and went to take it for a ride that pilot bearing is fugged so i had to drop the trans i got 2 new bearings sitting in my spare parts box but i think im going to buy a bushing woot dont have to worry about it gettin fugged on install and its wont brake and jam up your clutch and it is self lubeing
