Thanks, i got the strut bar from RX7Heaven here in MN. It is made for a 2ng Gen but still fits with a little grinding. The air filter top if made by Bozez. I cut the lower portion of the stock air cleaner assembly to make it look a little better.

Yes i meant Bonez. I wouldnt recommend buying the kit though, i would just make my own now that i think about it. I took off lots of the little things and had them Bead Blasted and the primed and prayed them. I also got the Blue Hoses at Checkers, they come in 3 Different sizes, i think it was like 34.99. I still need to do alot more. I just recently removed my Rats Nest. Now im looking for more things to remove that are uneccasary. Anyone know of anything else that can come out? Ill post another pic to show the other side of the Bay.

I am very much a newbie... Where is the Water/Oil cooler, and what does it do? Is removing it hard or easy? Anyone have a close up pic? I'd love to remove it if its not needed! Thanks T.j.

Removing it involves fitting an air-oil cooler up front somwhere as a replacement. Your engine wouldn't last too long with no oil cooler.

Yeah. The water/oil cooler is the oil cooler on your car. The thing right under your oil filter. Its a really bad attempt at an oil cooler. It uses the water from the radiator to heat...Err...cool the oil. The older 79-82 RX-7s had air/oil coolers. They were mini radiator type things under the actual radiator. Its usually worth while to swap over to the other type. Im personally doing this myself. Do a search for it, as many people have done it and you can probably find some good info on it.

There should be no difficulty finding a suitable oil cooler in the junkyard for cheap. Mine cost twenty dollars CDN.

Same here. The nice thing about the 2nd gen or SE oil cooler into an 84 or 85 is that the mounting holes are already there - for the SE cooler anyway. Also, installing a 2nd gen oil cooler or SE oil cooler into an 83-85 means that you don't have to switch the radiator to the smaller 79-82 style.
