Its off an FC. The old ones I think have lines that screw straight into the front as opposed to banjo fittings.

Hey Felix, what kind of oil cooler is that? It looks interesting. I ask because I'm planning on retrofitting an 82 cooler to an 85 12a.

I have the same setup. I'll post some pics as well to help some people out.

I also replied to a question in this thread. My response is about half way down.

Plus you can do a search in the 1st gen and 1st gen archive sections, for more answers.

No A/C, eh?

See? The lower hose connection kinda bend away from the engine ... that's what's screwing me right now.

I still have the AC. It's just one of those things that I have to have, even though I hardly ever use it. I just bent the line very carfully, so it doesn't kink.

Hey, jec, do you understand what you need to do, to run a air to oil cooler ?? you'll need the filter pedestal from a 82 12a,hose,and a 2ed gen oil cooler,,86 up.
i'm not real sure of the differences between FB and FC's
coolers, but either will work. Felix is using a 2ed gen FC
oil cooler on his 1st gen 12a . I've got an extra air to oil cooler from my 82 with OEM hoses. i'll sell pretty cheap
since i've bought all new hose's, and oil cooler.

Thanks, Mark Perez, but I've got the parts I'm going with already. Maybe even more than I need, if I cannabalize the GTU. Anyway, my rotten spider-infested 82 parts car came with a decent-looking oil cooler. Then I found a $400 receipt buried in the glovebox for a brand new oil cooler and lines, dated 1996. Cha-ching! I'll make it fit the 85 motor, don't worry.

Mike where'd you get that oil cooler at? My 1st gen doesn't need one but I'm trying to put one in each front corner of my 2nd gen race car and I like the looks of yours. (Nice run on sentence there!)
