Part source?????

I'm looking for the rubber boot that fits over the ball joint on the control arm under the mount for the strut. One of mine is split and the other one could use replacement too. I know that you can replace just the boot.

Might be some universal one available but I am not aware of any that are specific for our cars.

The tie rod boot covers from BD might fit the ball joint as well. Not sure, you'd have to look at them to make sure.

If you are going through all the trouble to tear down to that point (or in your case are already there), I would recommend replacing the ball joint rather than just the boot. Even if you replace the boot, any contamination that is in there will remain to wear down the joint. Then, maybe only a couple months down the road, you have to tear it all down again... Just my 2 cents.

well it only takes a few minutes for me to get to the ball joints, but don't you have to replace the whole lca? I need to get some new ones asap xD and if i could just replace the ball joints that would be a lot cheaper.................

BTW i agree with kentetsu, i didn't change mine and now its really bad, they got horribly contaminated and need to be replaced

I believe that the ball joins can be pressed out and new ones pressed in.

I have done my own ball joints twice now, without changing the arms (first time no grease due to faulty grease gun, DOH!!!). No issues at all, just be carefull when pressing the joints out/in so that you don't deform the A-arm. Some people like to put a couple of spot welds on them to ensure they stay in, but mine have always been extremely tight so I didn't see the need for it....
