To loud for sure.

You probably wouldn't gain a thing over a properly done full exhaust. If you did it wouldn't be enough to notice and I imagine sence your asking this question you're to broke to pay for dyno time (or a decent exhaustfor that matter) to prove the minute amount of power you traded a streetable car for.

Blah blah blah don't do it.

Just because its louder doesn't mean its faster...

Ask any racer any REAL racer, they will tell you it doesn't matter if you win by a second or a mile winning is winning. (sorry got off topic...)

Anyone who says that you can run a rotary with open headers on the street obviously hasn't actually tried it. When I ran my 12a with a header and presilencer it sounded like a dragster idling, much MUCH louder than loud *** v8 trucks you see driving around.

You will lose your hearing due to the level of noise, and your drivers license due to the authorities being able to hear you coming...

Two pipes leading from engine just dumping at the end of the header to nothing..... on a stock 12a about 25hp over the stock exhaust.... compared to a good sounding but relatively good flowing exhaust (like the RB Street Port I have) you might have a little under a 5hp gain on me if everything else were exactly equal.

But everything everyone else here has said is true. Rotaries are forkin' loud. Ported ones even more so than non ported ones.

Go ahead and try it if you like. When/if the ringing sound stops, head to racingbeat.com and spend the cash on a real exhaust.

Jon

Edit: you asked if you would gain or lose.. you always gain on a rotary by eliminating restriction in the exhaust. Ignore anything anyone EVER tells you about backpressure. It's total bunk on rotaries at least.
