Is the OMP working?

Ok.. so if the OMP wasn't working the engine probably would have died a long time ago....

But anyways I was looking around and I noticed that one of the hoses was leaking due to a bad hose clamp which then got me looking at the rest of the lines and I noticed that with the car on the somewhat yellow lines appear to be empty even when revving it.. So im wondering if it is working at all or is that just what they look like with oil in them.. Is there any way to test to see if the OMP is working properly?

Haynes manual shows a procedure. Basically pull off the line and count how many drips per minute, make sure you follow the directions explicitly, youll want to make sure your putting in oil to the carb that your watching drip out.

If it isn't working, and you can't get a replacement cheaply, just run pre-mix

Ok.. I want to take the OMP out and clean it up and inspect it because right now its just a big ugly sticky mess and I can't figure out whats leaking and whats not and I can't get anything to clamp onto the hose it is so slick.. So the question is, is it easy to take off? Will ineed a new gasket or something to put it back on? And do i have to drain the oil to take it out? tks.

New gasket yes, a little oil will come out. There is a place that you can buy a rebuild kit for them. http://www.loweperformance.com/
and brownmounds site has some good info http://www.loweperformance.com/
