OMP block off, how do I do it?

I've read the FAQ, and now I see a few options, the best seeming to be the block off plate. Where do I get one of these, or do I have to make it?

And do I need to block the connections on the carb, or just use rubber nipples that slide onto those connections?

Try searching for this information. It's around here somewhere...

You can get the blockoff plate (10-6020-3997) from Mazdatrix here:

http://www.mazdatrix.com/b62.htm

I would recommend putting some vacuum line caps on those nipples on the carb. Just to keep junk from getting in them.

Lastly, don't forget to premix your fuel! I believe that the going rate now is about 1 ounce of 2 cycle oil per gallon of gasoline. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Hope this helps. And yes please search for this type of stuff in the archive first. This was your freebie. ....

Like I said, I did search, and I did get some info about people doing it, but there is no info on actually HOW to do it!

Most of what I saw just says, "I just ripped it out and pulled out all the stuff that would come out and put it back on"

That didn't help when I read that, but I thank you because you have helped me!

sadly, mazdatrix doesnt make a block off plate for the gslse. and the way i mix my gas is i do it 100:1 that makes it about 16oz of oil to 12.5 gallons of gas, and its worked for over a year of daily driving for me.

I removed my OMP then used the face of the unit to make a template out of aluminum, I then bolted it on using the original holes, remember to use shorter bolts as the originals will bottom out and may damage the housing. The original comes out with 2 bolts then simply pull it out.

I use 2 stroke for premix as it is designed for this purpose, 50 to 1 mix, unless synthetic then 100 to 1.

So far 30,000 miles without a hitch, and my engine uses absolutely no oil now.

I used the gasket to trace on to a thin piece of steel. Worked great with a little silicone behind it!
