Omp

Hey guys whats happening. Ok here's the deal my OMP is so screwed up right now I don't know where to begin to fix it. The Metal linkage from the OMP to the Carb is messed up so bad I don't know when the engine is getting oil into the carb. So I started to premix it. Let me ask this. Where can I get linkage for a DCOE carb I believe thats the one I have, with the carb ontop. Or is it better to block off the omp and how do I do it?

Also My oil Cooler isn't hooked up and what is a good fix for this? It's leaky and cracked all over I think. My car needs help

alright... not a problem. just step back and breathe

the omp is an easy fix on our 12a's. BLOCK IT OOOFFFFFF. it's two 10mm bolts. undo those and pull the main part off. ofcourse, removing the rod. now remove that piece sticking out and put a dime in where the part you just took off normally inserted. seal it up nice with some damn good rtv and your done. i've done this for years it works great oh yes.

now about that oil cooler... is it still connected and leaking all over the place? or you removed it and aren't running one at all. i'm lost.

#1 I have a old school 13B 4-port.

lol ok and the oil cooler is sitting there still in there but the line has been taken from the front and hooked to the back. Just bypassed thats all. So the oil cooler isn't even hooked up at all.

I've had to make them out of bicycle brake cables before. Just get creative and treat it like making a new throttle cable.

You definitely need an oil cooler on a rotary. It scares me to think of running without one. Why not just find a new oil cooler such as one from a 2nd gen and make some lines? I've got an extra 2nd gen oil cooler and 2nd gen lines but I'm not sure how easy this will integrate in. I do know doing the 2nd gen cooler on 1st gens is quite possible.

When I bought my Mikuni, it didn't have an mop rod. I made one out of a 2nd gen mop rod, they are thicker and longer. The 1st gen ones are too short for the dcoe/wrap around style carb. You will need to drill the hole in the mop lever larger to accomodate the 2nd gen rod. Just take your time bending it to fit and make sure the rod clears everything through it's full travel.

another issue is you know the little lever thing on the carb itself that you hook the line onto. It's gone. I dont' know what happened to it but it's gone. I'm never taking my car to AAW in Lakeland FL ever again. THEY SUCK AND STEAL YOUR ****! MAIN ST AND COMBEe dON"T GO THERE! Ok anyways it's gone maybe I should just block the OMP off do I just do the same thing as FBII did on the 12A?
