you have it backwards :P the gas is supposed to smell like oil

Do you still have a crankcase vent/pcv hooked up? i noticed in another post your running a holley and had a lack of emissions control bits.

Nope, I have not flooded it. I just found this out, the OMP lines go to the carb........ Check out my pics for "double pulley on the cheap" thread. check the one pic and tell me if they're going to the right place. They go to the float bowl. Is that right???? I think maybe while it sits gas goes down the ONP lines into the oil????? I don't know tho, How about that crankcase vent........ where do I hook that into. As you can see it's just a 3 inch tube sticking out there. Do I tap it into the brake vac line or what????? I really need some help here.

My oil smells alittle of gas as well and my vent hose just goes to a small 4" filter
How should it be hooked up?
PVC valve then to the a carb vac source?

I'm not sure how it works on rotaries but I've seen piston motors with some blow-by causing the oil to stink of gas. From what I remember, it's a pretty common thing even with very little blow-by.

EDIT: ****, just noticed the guy say you are running a holley and thus my post that I even looked up from my own thread is useless to you.

The carb vent is the big opening below the fuel hose inlets, but dont vonfuse it with sub zero start assist. You want to T the oil filler vent to the carb vent and T that into the Big end of purge valve. The other end gets connected to the 4th opening from the left.

this thread might help https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...highlight=halp

and the tutorial on rats nest removal, page 19-21 may help as well.

I doubt that gas would displace the oil and go down the tubes and get in your oil that way. Don't tap into the booster line, your braking will suffer. I bet it either has been flooded or partially flooded, maybe not enough to soak your plugs to where it won't fire, but you can change your oil and see if it happens again.

I just routed the oil fill neck vent hose thingy to the intake and put it through the rubber ducky. That should work right?????

The oil vent hose can be left unhooked, some hook up a valve there to prevent "lung mustard". As far as the T'd line coming off of your distributor, that is for vac advance and it can be left unhooked with an aftermarket setup like the holley.
Find an exploded view of that model Holley, that will tell you what those ports are, and where you have vacuum, etc.

i ran my crankcase vent to a tapped barb fitting in the intake with a restrictor (~1/16) and left it at that. it prevents the water/oil goo, and vents the crankcase with vac. the vac advance you can do the same with( you will notice a mileage difference with the vac advance hooked up, an extra 1-2 mpg).

^^ If mpg were your concern, I don't think you would've installed the Holley. The Holley install is a performance mod, not a fuel saver. Per RB, the vac advance is NOT hooked up.

i would guess you will have to tap one yourself in the manifold if there aren't any there now.
