Oil level sensor?

Well putting my oil pan back in After drilling it I broke one of the wires for my oil level sensor . I was wondering does the sa have a kill switch in them like the newer ones , or do I not have to jump the wires for now . Mind you jumping the wires will only be temporary because right now I don't have $180.00 for a new one

I've got a blockoff plate on mine. I think I got it from Mazdatrix or you can make your own.

All the sensor runs is the light, as I recall. Same with the coolant sensor (which I managed to break once, to my financial horror).

block off plate ? Isn't the oil level sensor the one with two wires coming from the oil pan or did I break something different ?

Problem usually is when these break, they snap right at the epoxy seal, leaving not a lot to solder.

I've taken to using silicone to build up a short "strain relief" on sensors like this. I figure if nothing else comes of it, it might at least move the breakage point out to where I can peel the silicone back, solder to the stub, and re-silicone.
