Oil Cooler Lines

OK, I've tried searching as no luck.
I need to replace my FMOC lines as they are leaking like crazy.

I really don't want to spend $187 + shipping ($135 for lines + 4 x $13 for adapters) from Racing Beat
http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=11907

Does anyone know of a more economical solution???

I guess I could take a set off and see if Napa Autoparts can make me a set. Any experiance?

I thought GSL-SE lines were different than 12A lines

Trochoid has a writeup on making 12a-to-13b cooler lines from stock FC lines somewhere. I don't think his method cost very much at all.

Didn't realized you have 12A, nevermind then.

That write up can be used for making any oil cooler lines. DIY and cost was a primary concideration when I wrote it. Last line I had made was around 10 bucks with me doing all the work except crimping the ferrels.

I got my stainless steel lines and AN fittings from JEGGS. It was dirt cheap even with shipping to Canada. It was way cheaper than Racing Beat and I like the fittings from Jeggs as they still swivel when torqued down. Making the lines was very easy.

VERY interesting... do you remember your shopping cart items exactly? I think they are all 16 and 18mm pipe thread... but, not sure which are which.

Did you go with 10AN or 8AN lines?

Thanks

I've been quite happy with my RB SS lines... but yeah, they are spendy.

LOL.. I'm half thinking about just taking my lines off, taking them to my local hydraulic hose maker and telling them "make these". While those are being made I think I'll get my FMOC cleaned.

Probably should all cost less than $200 RB set

Update

So here's a picture of my lines as they sat in my car and a picture of one of the lines squished to show how cracked the rubber was... no wonder they were leaking.

Yep, that's what my stockers looked like. Kinda like a soaker hose for replenishing asphalt.

They held up a lot of years, but they really decay in a nasty way when they go.

At my THIRD hydraulic hose & fitting supplier I finially was told "yeah, I think we can make that" after being rejected by the other two. They ended up just cutting off the old collers and re-using my old fittings w/ new collers. It took a while, maybe 45 minutes, but ONLY COST $20. Crush washers cost another $5 and I had to buy a 21mm wrench to install the fittings correctly. All-in-all, a VERY reasonable fix and a WHOLE LOT less expessive than RB lines.

Here is a picture of the lines once new hose and collers were installed sitting on the store's front counter and another picture of the lines once installed.

And.... I over tightened a oil cooler line going into the FMOC and the lower aluminum bung cracked like everyone on the board warned it would
$30 later and it's all TIG welded back together and re-installed. NO LEAKS....
Leason learned?
If it's not leaking, don't keep "checking" to make sure it's tight
