Oil cooler line question

Ok, got the SS braided lines with AN fittings for the '82 air/oil cooler. Do I still need crush washers with AN fittings?

When I installed mine without them they started leaking right away.
Just make sure tou use new ones so they will seat properly.

Ok, next question then is where do I get them from? What size, etc. Thanks!

IIRC, 18mm and 16mm. I got mine from a hydraulic supply company. Can't recall which one is 18mm. Rear maybe?

wacky - Liquid teflon paste? Where do you get that? Do I use the same on the fittings for the FPR?

Autozone or Pep-boys ===== in a white tube. I used that on all fittings instead of the real teflon tape.

hey, not sure what ur prob was but if i were u i would convert to a 13b oil cooler, reason being that 1st's oil coolers tend to brake where the inlet outlet are due to differant expansion and cotraction rate, hot oil coming in right above where cold oil is coming out, this was fixed with the later modle by placing them at deferent locals on the cooler, the conversion should be rather easy, just some extra long oil lines.

Yea, the 12A oil cooler can break near the fittings, but it can be repaired. I found a guy that was good with welding aluminum and he fixed mine better than new. I used this web site to identify and fix the problem:

Yup, I've had two that were broke around the outlets. You just can't argue with getting a brand new oil cooler with the SS lines and AN fittings for free though
