Where do you find the aluminum crush washer for the steel oil cooler line (front cover fitting) for a 85 12a? The local Mazda dealer does not have them (per the parts dept. and say then can not get them)!!!

Unless I am not reading the Mazdatrix site correctly, they presently do not have the washer for the 85 12a??? - they just have the steel oil cooler line - they only show the washers for the 85 SE

Just hit up kragan, autozone, napa, etc. and ask for a 'crush' washer' take an old one with you. aluminum, copper, as long as it seals. i'm sure a mazda dealership with a parts department will have crush washers.

I did find a site that has crush washers, but they do not cross reference to an RX-7 - they have #3,4,6,8,10,12,16 and 10mm - what size do I need?

Volvo dealership PN 977751. If it's not 3 7's, it's 2. But I'm pretty sure they should have them in stock. Copper washers I used on my 81 12a.

I am not sure what is there now, e.g. from this forum I am led to believe that its aluminum - question is if its now aluminum, will a copper one cause some unwanted chemical reaction?

Call www.sevensonly.com and ask for them. They use Earl's Doudy seals that have rubber in the inner diameter of the washer to seal it real good. They cost more but your motor and peace of mind are worth it.
