Oil cooler?

Ok, I was messing with my oil cooler off of a 2nd gen seeing how I wanted to mount it. I was wondering does it matter which side faces the front or back? I would assume you want the oil plugs on the driverside so it is closer to the oil block where the lines go. I didn't know if one way cooled better than the other. I don't think it would but I thought I would ask just to make sure.

Lines on the diver's side and the plug at the bottom.

Ok, I figured it went that way. I was just wondering if the other way would cool the oil down more. That wouldn't make since to have the lines running all the way to the other side of the engine bay though. Thanks.

Swapping ends as you described would have no effect on cooling, good or bad. Besides, the original set-up is simple and effective. Longer lines might make the oil take a few milli-seconds longer to reach operating temperature, but that temperature would not change since it's the efficiency of the heat exchanger that determines how cool the oil is rather than the quantity of oil in the system. The longer lines would not add a noticable benefit at all.

Yes does not matter which direction you place it. However I placed mine with the plug at the top. I plan on flipping it. I have about 4-5" of clearance. If I were to hit a large pot hole and pop that of I would not be in too good of a situation.
