Looks that way. Seems like a good/ safe kit. What size Holley do you have?

From the NX faq page.....

Q. How does a nitrous system operate on a carbureted vehicle? A. </B> The most common method of boosting power on carbureted applications is the use of a "plate" sandwiched between the carb and the intake manifold. This plate contains orificed tubes that deliver the nitrous/fuel mixture in precise ratios.

Q. How can my engine get more fuel while on the bottle? A. </B> All NX systems add additional fuel during nitrous usage by injecting it directly with the nitrous through their patented "Shark" nozzle. This method assures 100% atomization of the fuel and accurate air/fuel ratios.

L O V E I T ! ! !
works great. kinda different. went with the 100 shot. can sure tell the difference. 2nd and 3rd rock. fourth is getting a little ping around 5grand. so i havn't went any further. but all and all, was way worth the money. if i don't work another 65 hour week i'll shoot some picks. but yeah. worth it.

Pull the timing back a bit or run colder plugs if you're using 100 HP pills...

Feel free to pour the questions on and I'd love to help in selecting parts if you decide to build it yourself.

Just try to post your questions here on forum and avoid private messages as much as possible so everyone can learn all at once.

Good luck which ever road you decide.
OK. Thanks for the offer.

First question: What is a good brand of progressive controller?

Second question: Do you know of anyone running one in autocross or roadrace applications?

TIA,

NOS and Jacobs both make good progressive controllers....as far as I know, the SCCA won't let you on an autoX course with nitrous, but that was last year at Pennington and TMS...

i dont wana hijack the thread , here is a question that maybe some1 could answer.

when using it with a boost setup. my fuel pressure goes from 3.5 to 13.5 depending on the boost at the carb.

when using a nitrous kit does the fuel pressure need to stay the same? i was thinking yes. but then what happens when boost stops the fuel at 3psi.

or

does the nitrous grab the fuel before the boost pressure and the 700psi of nitrous takes it away. this might be a question for the guys at NX or NOS to answer.

Carl.

Thanks. I'll check them out.

I had forgotten about SCCA's ban on nitrous, but I rarely run their events, in any case. In this area, there are so many competitors that getting signed up is a major challenge. I usually run a couple of the events (for Mazdacomp membership) put on by smaller clubs. Tech inspection usually consists of:

1) got helmet - check
2) got four tires - check
3) you're done

I like their approach better. Since SCCA has its regional and national championships, there are a number of gonzo competitors who crank of the cost, as well as the tension level at tech inspection.

  • got battery strapped down - check
  • hmmmm...is that rotary stock?..."yes"...check...
  • you're done

Yeah, that's one of the joys of the rotary world. One time, the RXX-7 was in the shop, and I had to show up at the last autox of the season to get my second one in for Mazdacomp.

What to do?

I showed up in my 1985 GSL-SE. Even though the registration said 1990 RX-7, no one blinked an eye! Ran the course; Mazdacomp was happy. All's well that ends well.
