Power FC Apexi Power FC?
Hey just a quick question.....
i have a few small running problems with my FD & i have been considering buying a power fc to put on my car, i have a few mods inc.. bigger intercooler, induction kit, & exhaust system etc.. but i still have standard engine management
is it worth buying??
it seems that every other rx7 seems to have one
thanks for your time

I would get one if you're considering increasing boost above 10psi now or in the future.
Even if you're running 10psi where the stock ECU would still work, the car will run better at light throttle with a PFC.

a friend recently installed a PFC on his stock fd. he is raving about better drive-ability, mpg and had it dynoed not changing the stock boost and picked up almost 40 rwhp.
a great deal of the benefits from the PFC are delivered when your right foot isn't on the floor.
buy it. tune it.

The only limitations with a PowerFC are fineness of tuning (some guys prefer Microtech or Wolf3D for really serious hardcore tuning) and boost control.
It's not fair to call either one a limitation really. The boost control is only limited because of the stock boost control solenoids, and there is a PFC compatible boost control solenoid available that works great. The fineness of tuning is not a big problem because people are making some pretty nasty numbers with heavily modified cars on PFCs, and for stock to reasonably modded cars it runs very well with very little hassle.
