Talking New RE-Speed Product (Aluminum Coolant Outlet)

Another new product that you should see very shortly on the catalog is this aluminum coolant outlet (the part that sits right on top of the thermostat). We'll be machining the first one before the end of the week to make sure fitments are spot on, from there on we'll take a picture of the actual product and we'll use that as the picture on our website. This should be about 1/3 the weight of the stock one for all you guys out there shaving every ounce off your cars, like me!

Price will be 49.99$

Here's the 3D rendering of it though as a teaser :

Keep your eyes open for more new products!

So this will be for the 12a cars right? The GSL-SE outlet is straight isn't it? Good price, I'll have to add it to my wishlist

The outlet does go straight out, and should fit both 12a and 13b for first gens.

It will bolt to the 13B the way you have it shown but doesn't match the GSL-SE style outlet.

Can anyone shoot me over a picture of the se style? If the flange is the same just different tube, that's easy to work around.

Very nice Sam. Another cool (although probably kind of pricey) product would be an aluminum replacement for the cast iron piece that sits between the water pump and the block. You could shave 1 or 2 pounds from the front of the engine with a machined billet piece.

That will be on the website as an extra option for an additional 12$. Will most likely be a 3/8 npt bung.

3/8" NPT sounds good.

And yes, the straight style is GSL-SE.

Is it actually straight out or does it tilt slightly towards the passenger side? Or is the tilt almost nothing that a straight piece will be just fine?

Here's the 12A unit, with the temp connection installed. It would be cool to have one of these made of aluminum:

79-88 interchange, you just get the hose to match the year outlet.
Not positive on the 88, but pretty sure 86-87.

I meant 79-80 on the fc housings, if you put the fc ones on a 1st gen you would need a funky hose.

Jim, you can very easily use a 2nd gen water pump housing on a 12a. Actual weight savings is a hell of a lot more than 1 or 2 pounds (more like 10?). You'll have to take a look at my setup at the next event.

Great looking product Sam!

Very, very interested in a GSL-SE one.

I have been trying to figure out a good way to insert a bung into the cooling system, and this is the perfect way.

Anxiously awaiting.....

You'll have to make the GSL-SE version taller to fit a bung.

I did the whole aluminum setup on mine and it works great. 2nd gen housing, 1st gen aluminum pump, something gen aluminum coolant outlet.

It did save a lot of weight!
