need info on gsl-se water pump

need info on gsl-se water pump

i have a se water housing and pump
on my 12a.

is the housing much diffrent then the 12a i say this because i cant get my hose's to fit..

also there is like a tube out the back of the housing whats it for im just going to block it off..

block it off or weld that bitch shut. the only problem you would have is when adapting a water temp gauge in back of the water pump housing. the hole is too small. On a 6port, the intake temp is controlled by coolant. there is a nipple in the rear housing then back to the water pump housing.

The nipple is for thermowax. Block it.

The thermostat housing tube pipe thing is straght on the GSL-SS and at a 45° angle on 12A and older engines. Swap it.

The cast iron housing is otherwise pretty similar. You can just as easily remove the ECU temp sensor and cut some NPT threads in it for a guage sender as you can with a choke holder switch on a 12A housing. The size will be different, but most aftermarket guages come with three popular adaptor sizes. Use the medium (1/2"?) one on 12A housings (and the proper tap) and the small one (3/8" I think; NPT is measured dfferently) on GSL-SE and 2nd gen housings.

alrighty then i will get a se upper hose and a 12a lower lol i bet the auto store guys will think im nuts as usall haha iv been mix and matching **** and they get confused
