1st rx7 and a Toy story
Greetings to the forum...1st post...Let the newbie joke's fly...
Sooooo...Here's the story...Bought a 1979 rx7 from one of my customer's...(I run a local Tire and lube shop, just for info sake) cheap...($250.00 cheap),runs, but idle's high. Mazda's seem like a new adventure...Sooo...A new ride enter's the shop...Pop the hood and, Hmmmm, there sits a 1983ish Toyota 22R engine...not what was expected....Boooo,Hissss...(Now understand,I have built a few Toy's in my day,Dual carbed, milled head, high comp,20-22r engine's. As well as small block Ford 1/4 miler's)...I was left a little flat...No Rotary...Now the question...What to do...The cheapest way to go in my neck of the woods is small block...rotary's are unheard of in Arkansas,(50 miles to the nearest McDonalds... )say the word Wankel and they just stare at you...Sooo...Who's got a V8?and how well does it do in this type of car and Dont call me a trader if I do not go Rotary, cost effectiveness may win over Rotary power...not ruling it out though...

Come and join the forces of the Darkside!
It's obvious by your disappointment that you really wanted/ needed a rotary under that hood. You'd be surprised at what you'll find as far as rotary. Yes even in your neck of the woods. Start poking around the forum and see who's close to your area. V8 can be a part of a great drink (I guess) but a rotary under the hood is much more satisfying.
