need help with transmission alignment!!!

Last night I installed a spare first gen trans my brother had laying around. I also replaced the mount with an LRB Speed billlet aluminum mount. Now my tailhousing doesn't sit centered. Any of you ever encounter this?

The mount is obviously the issue. That'll mess up the driveline angles for sure.

I'd dremel out the holes on the mount to get it strait. There might be some wiggle room on that mount though.

Are you sure you don't have the mount backwards? They are not L/R symmetrical.

I installed the mount the right way. Could it be that the motor moved when I was pulling the transmission?

no, try flipping the mount around, they aren't symmetrical.

I doubt the motor moved. Whats an LRB Speed billet mount anyway? Is it made correctly for
an RX7?

As others said the stock mount is not symmetrical for the same reason that passenger
seat inner rail is different from the drivers side inner rail. The tranny tunnel does some weird
changes in shape on the passenger side.

It's a lump for the exhaust system, mostly for the cat. I tried a set of SA seats in
my rotary MG Midget because the originals were long gone. I had to put the
passenger seat on the driver's side due to fitment issues with the highback
release lever, and needed to add a 1x1 length of wood under one rail if I recall
correctly.

Keeping this thread related, I installed a competition trans mount in the MG and
it had to be flipped around due to fitment issues. It lets everything line up but I
had to fight the natural angle of the studs. At least being brand new and a
competition version, it should last a long time, even while installed backwards.
