Need 5 lug Conversion info!!

Ive been looking at all the threads about this but still have a few questions??? I finally have the money and the time to convert my 82 Rx7 to the 5x114 bolt pattern. I quess my main question is, what the best way to go??? I have the normal parts in the front, but I swaped out the axel for a 84 with disc brakes. So the car is a normal 82 except for the rear which is still the old 4x110 patter, same as the front, just with disc brakes.

For the front I was looking at the respeed conversion kit. It is made for a 84-85. and then you can bolt the second gen calipers, bearings and rotors on right? So would I need to swap out the hubs on my 82 for 84 hubs. Also would third gen calipers work? I thought I read that they would????

As for the rear??? Should I just go with wheel adapters?? Is that what most of you are doing

Can someone that has done this tell me exactly what parts I need, that would be very helpfull,

Thanks

Pull the axles and take them to a machine shop. Have them weld in the the 4 lug holes and drill and tap for for 5 lug pattern. If you look at the CP Racing adapters, one of the 5 bolts cuts into one of the old 4, leaving the wheel held on by less than 4 full size bolts. That is not a safe way to do it imho.

Pitch the old axle and put in a more different axle. That gets you 5 lug on the rear...

I bought a pair of GSL-SE rear axles, had them redrilled. That way you can use one of the existing holes, only drill 4 new holes.

You need the complete front strut from a 84-85. The axle is part of the strut. The 2nd gen 5 bolt hub is aluminum, with a separate disc. The aluminum calipers do a very good job, and work well with the 84-85 master cylinder, don't know if the earlier Master is any different. I did the complete conversion, including the rear brakes, and it is awesome. Just saved my *** a few days ago when some idiot drove out in front of me.

Strut housings will be used. Hit the for salesection. Core charge on the TII 4-pot front calipers is usually more than the cost of the rebuilt ones.
