Name that beeping sound!!!
Well, today was interesting.... I was at my weekly autocross, and in the middle of my last two runs, I heard a beeping that I hadn't heard before... Both times it did it for only a couple seconds... Not the over-rev buzzer, and it's not the door buzzer... higher pitch than the door buzzer, and the speed of it was 90-120 bpm... What other warning buzzers/beepers are there?

I'm sure because it's the only super fast beeping alarm I've ever heard come from my car. I don't know why, but for whatever reason, the alarm doesn't go off until you're approximately 3 quarts low. The oil light on the dash should be comin on along with it. The first time I heard it, it was so fast that by the time I looked for a light, I saw it going out, but couldn't tell which one it had been. It has a tendency to only happen around corners as well.
BTW, when this happened to me, I freaked out when it took 3 quarts. But I posted on here and told everyone about it, and somebody said that even though it is a 5 quart system, only roughly 2 quarts are actually in use at a time, the other 3 just sit in the pan. (I know it's all circulating, but it's the same equivalent.) So, bottom line, being 3 quarts low won't hurt the engine. I've gone proabably at least 10K miles since I did this to mine, and I've had no trouble.

I suppose the faster the cornering, the less oil would need to be missing to sound the alarm. Considering my tires, I don't think I could corner fast enough to make it sound at only 1 quart low.

Could be the ocscillator, when it first starts making noise it is only periodic and sounds like "beeping". After awhile it gets worse until it becomes a constant screeching sound. Easy fix, just unplug the oscillator up by the left front headlight then plug it back in.
