1st gen. project:

I am new to the FB forum, I'm an FD owner. Grand-dad decided to give away his 1st gen; I can't wait to get started.

It's an '85 GSL-SE, and I believe the mileage is about 170k. Definitely highway miles, all the gravel guard is perfect; just some bug chips on the front. There's a dent on the front fender that can be seen in the photo, that's 1st on my list.

This car has a great wing. You can barely make it out in the photo. I haven't found anything in the forum about it. There is also some really nice stainless trim. I have a targa band new in the box that I'm planning on installing. Any objections?

Let me know what you guys think.

Thats the best looking brown RX-7 I've seen. Very clean, props to your Grandpa.

What's your plans with it?

Plans:

I'll probably be keeping it stock. There is always the possibility of suspension upgrades along with wheels (but I really like the GSL-SE wheels).

I'd like to make it a little more road worthy above 70 mph...make it a nice road machine.

Oh, when Grand-dad bought it 3 years ago...I spotted it, and he bought it a couple weeks later. There's an Turbo II in his driveway right now...I hope he doesn't sell it!

Your floor mats are on the wrong sides

Very clean car! That Rx-8 shift **** looks great in your FD, too! I've done a few small mods to my SE that make it my favorite daily driver: exhaust, intake, suspension, wheels, etc.

Keep it close to stock-at least in the looks department, clean SE's are getting harder to come by...

I definitely plan on keeping the looks close to stock. I'll get those floor mats fixed!

The only aesthetic mods would be the targa top and possibly a set of wheels.
