N2O on a Rotory

Ok guys I am by far an idiot but i am having problems with putting N2O on a Rotory. I have been hearing mixed responces on using it cause of premature failure of the motor i have heard anything from the freezing temps causing apex seals to break to the motor detonating because of the leaning out and pressures of injecting N2O into the system I know about using wet systems as well as dry but My worry is more about the way a rotory is built with the apex seals and the orings that seal everything up like usind alchohol you have to use new rubber seals in order for it to work and not deteriorate the seals i am wondering if the same is true with the rotory also i am wondering about Gear Mesh i have heard with about 1,000 dollars worth of motor work i can make my 7 see 13000 Rpm with a 600 holly and it will run out of gas before it will run out of fuel how true is this i have a very trust worthy mechanic telling me this but i want to confirm it with you first any and all info on both of these matters will be greatly appreciated

About a 1000 bucks to get 13K RPMS?!.................wish that were true.

Bottom line,no matter how much money you throw at it,there still wont be a center bearing in a rotary to prevent E-shaft whip. The only thing you can do to prevent the shaft from flexing and detroying the housings is to keep the revs below 9000rpm or pay out the cash for super light rotors, hardened gears and top quality bearings, seals and housings. Not to mention the porting required to feed the engine at such revs.Im not even sure Ive ever heard of a Wankel car engine built, that would hit 13K......maybe 11-12K.

A thousand bucks will barely buy you a rock bottom priced, basic 12A rebuild engine. And just because a super-duper, race built engine will spin 10-11K rpm doesnt mean its meant for/ feasible on the street, or will last any appreciable amount of time before its wiped.

I'm confused? How do you run out of gas before you run out of fuel? Also, since when does nitrous have any effect on rubber parts like alcohol? Doesn't nitrous just allow for more fuel to be burned, an oxygenate, "chemical oxygen" so to speak? Someone help me out here before my head explodes!

13k rpm - 1000$ unheard of unless you blew the engine ... supporting mods to get it up there and still provide enough fuel are alot more than that 1000$

Steve has all the bases pointed out about that ...

Running out of gas before fuel, I think he meant to type oil before fuel, which would then be another lie. This rumor of how much oil rotaries consume has really has to come to an end.

As for your mechanic, I would susgest getting another one that knows what he's talking about first ... has he ever driven an rx-7 or rebuilt an engine on one before, if not he should not be stating things like that if he hasn't. I'm not saying his a bad guy, just saying that he should know his stuff before opening his mouth ...

I'm with dj55b. Either you are badly misrepresenting what your "mechanic" told you, or he needs to do his homework.

It's about time you learned how to use the search function and start learning about your car. I just got done reading some of your other posts and you have alot to learn even about the basics.

There is a tutorial in the Archive section on Nitrous.
You also need to read the FAQ section where there is a thread on How a rotary works.
There are also alot of other good information links that we have spent alot of time putting in the FAQ and Archive section that you need to read.
Until that time, this thread is closed.
