O-rings and Rocket Science
Rotory engines get rather hot,,right,,so the next time you replace
any o-ring lube it up first,If it works for rocket science,it will work
for a rotory engine...

i got it from aerocon systems, they are a supply house for liquid rocket
engines,solid rocket engines,and even whole rockets,,,you know,,like
6 foot rockets,,the o-rings for my oil filter piller needed to be replaced
so i bought those,and i thought,,,heat,,,o-ring,so i used that grease
on them before installing them,,shouldn't o-rings be preped with
something first,,it's used for the rocket engine o-rings,,i went to mazda
for the o-rings and they wanted $4.11 each,,,so i went down the street
and bought them for $0.48 cents each at napa parts

Some guys have said they go and get cheaper O-Rings down at the hardware store.
Is it OK to use these? or are the dealer O-Rings better?
Also, what size are they. Or should I just bring an old one down with me?
Thanks.

The best o-ring you could get for your car would be a viton one. They can take much more heat than a regular buna-n or a nitrile o-ring. Plus the viton will be comaptable with just about all fluids.

i work for one of the largest o-ring MFG's in the country. If you guys want lube i can supply all you need. DO NOT USE VASALINE. it will eat through most common rings. the Lub is 180wt developed specificly for buna, viton, EPDM, and Neoprene o-rings and gaskets and has a working heat ranger of -55 to +650 degrees. i can get it from work for about $2.00, ,we sell it for $10.99 If your intrested e-mail me at JOHN91374@aol.com
