Unless, theres' something I don't know about, - I'd be wary of that tune, especially with some load on the street.

The dyno's wideband is not right. There were others there with the same results. Stock ECU'd cars on stock boost that aren't going to run lean. The PLX with fresh sensor shows 10.5-11.5 across the board under boost. Datalog confirms it. The dyno's 02 sensor went in post cat and there is only about 2" of tailpipe past the cat. The rest of the exhaust hasn't been finished. So I would guess between the cat and the close proximity of ambient air there is a potential for the readings to be off. The fact that this wasn't the only car to have those spikes and that the spikes aren't consistent and overlapping from run to run tell me to not believe it.

Yea the SE block had always seemed to me like the best n/a block to turbo. higher compression, 3mm seals, heavier rotors(more torque). With the s5 intake manifold, is the VDI functional? or do you have that gutted/wired open? If you had that functional that might help even more with the low end, especially off boost response/power. Great build up man, turn up the boost and have some real fun.

I always thought lower compression was more suitable for turbo...

the lower the compression the higher the boost levels you can run. But with higher compression and good tuning you can make more power with lower boost. Plus with the higher compression rotors the engine will be much more suitable for stop and go traffic, it will have all the low end that the SE has stock. (granted no rotory really has alot of low end, but the SE has good low rpm manners)

That is nearly double the output of stock I would be completly satisfied with that.

well considering that's WHEEL hp if you thought of it as flywheel hp compared to the 130 stock rating it is over double

if you did 15% for drive tran loss I think it would be about 285hp at the crank

loud as hell, however it was ungodly loud on the dyno! The enclosed building didn't help at all! I think everyone except me had their fingers in their ears. LOL! I'm ordering my Magnaflow muffler right after christmas incase someone in my family decides to get it for me for christmas.

No. It's locked in the high RPM mode.

UPDATE:

Well, I haven't ran the car much since I got it back. When I pulled it off the dyno I noticed it was running funny. Turns out the FPR was going out which might have been the reason tuning it was alittle screwy. Well LudwigMotorSports got me an aftermarket FPR and tracked down a draw on the battery and fixed it. He then went to reload the maps and retune however the Laptop couldn't find the Haltech. He then tried a few more computers and cables but to no help. He had to take out the Haltech and send it back so here I sit rx7less and I really miss it. My SRT4 just doesn't do it for me anymore.

When he gets the car back he's going to tune it again. I'm only wondering if we could pull more from it, I might go ahead and get a boost controller and have it tuned for 12lbs. I'll more than likely put it back on the dyno again after its tuned again. I'd like to see 275 or 300hp at the wheels :P

yea unfortunately that is a common problem for that model haltech hope it doesnt take 6 months to fix like it did for some people on this board.

HOLY COW I hope not! If I miss race season I'm going to be pissed! I still have finish up the exhaust, get my race tires, and suspension! I can't do that until I get my car back! I'm starting to hate Haltech! :hate: :hate: :hate:!

But seriously I hope it the Haltech is back before March.

Update:

Well it was offical... The haltech was sent to Austrialia so I'm not sure when I'll get her up and running, however I figured since she was going to be down that this would be a prime time to have it painted. I'm having the color changed from red to black and going to have a rotor with the turbo in the middle ghosted where the side RX7 badges are. Next I'll be upgrading the electrical system to a S5 alternator and go ahead and buy my Azenis 615's for my new rims. Then I have to install my new CD player and speakers. Its more than likely a good thing that the Haltech is down and out at the moment because it has giving me time to gather my thoughts on what I really wanted to do with the car. I'll post some old pictures of the car and the new pictures as soon as its done, which should be a week or two.
