My turbo 12a progress. STREET PORT PICS!
Well, last night I finished rebuilding the engine up to the front cast plate (I still have to put on the front counterweight, etc). I took pics of my street port, my ported intake manifold, and the stock intake manifold to show what a big pressure drop the setup had.
NOTE: I did the intake ports myself, up to where GTORX7 port matched them and repolished them for me (I am not as good as he is!). Also, the motor is red on the aluminum housings, and black on the iron housings. I know the pic sucks.

More pics...
NOTE: The picture titled "ebay pics 072" is the adaptor plate for the carb to turbo to intake manifold (This is the draw through setup). Notice how restrictive the setup is when it enters the intake manifold (what this picture is trying to show). It is much better now, when you look into the inlet, it has a much straighter shot into the primaries and more flow into the secondaries. Also, I used a 79 intake for the turbo setup. The stock intake pictured is an 82 intake with the anti backfire valve still attached. The 79 intake looks like the 82 does on the right primary and secondary (it doesnt have the anti backfire valve, for those who didnt know).

That street port is $#%& huge! Its a lot bigger than the one on my old 4 port 13b. How is the idle quality something like that? It sure would be nice to have more power. I dont like the idea of going with a bridge port either since bridges tend to crack. And peripheral port motors are waaaay too expensive for me.

thank you, i was hoping they were OK, they were my first so I was a little skeptical of them. I hope to get about 275 at the flywheel or about 220 RWHP out of the setup with the alky injection and 15psi
nice pics. not a bad job at all. i'd agree with 680's comment on the exhaust though. i'm very interested to hear how it runs though with your chosen turbo/carbie combination. good luck and keep us posted.

go bigger on the exhaust port, you still have alot more you could go on the exhaust port, but the intake is perfect!!!

well i hate to tell you but your going to make at least 300 rwhp with a port like that!!
what intake setup are you going to use? and what turbo are you going to use?
im still using the BAE bolt on turbo kit. It uses the stock intake manifold (pic of the "ported" intake manifold shown above) and a RAYJAY B trim .86 A/R turbo. The turbo is about the size of a Garret T 04 E. It is supposed to support up to 400 horsepower, with its sweet spot at about 300. The biggest problem with my setup is its drawthrough, so no intercooler, but i am using alcohol injection. Oh, its a 500 cfm carter AFB carburetor.
I used GTORX7's Racing Beat Templates. There were slight modifications done, though, to a mishap when i went a little over the line. GTO matched them up for me. One thing that GTO showed me was that the template only shows the outline of the port. He taught me his signature port flow pattern, which i had done OK. He did not quite approve, however, and he "touched it up" for me.
