is my 13b ported

i will soon be taking my 13b out of my se to put it in a gsl. short of tearing the motor down how can i tell if its ported. i know it has been rebuilt but the guy i bought it from didnt know if its been ported.

Take off the intake and exhaust manifold, and look into them with a flash light. If the walls of the ports are rough like cast iron and have casting flaws and such than they're likely stock. It will be fairly obvious if someones been in there smoothing and enlarging them, by the look and feel of them. Plus look at pictures of modified ports, and compare them to the ports of you're engine.

Another nice trick is to slip a dental mirror into an intake port, with the rotor turned so you can look through. With a little flexible LED flashlight, you should be able to look into the port at the mirror, and look across to the opposing intake port.
