MSD Blaster2 Coil install

Everyone gives the MSD Blaster 2 Coils rave reviews so I have decided to get a pair. My only question is: will they work with the rest of the stock ignition setup? Can I just drop these in where the old coils were and drive off into the sunset? Or will i need to modify any other parts of my ignition system?

you just need to drop them in the existing location just like the original coils and that is it.

Make sure you buy the "rough environment" version that is sealed & can be mounted horizontally. The standard ones will leak oil if not mounted vertically. Only a couple bucks more for the proper, sealed ones.

I haven't done it on a rotary, but the MSD 6AL is a good durable CD box and does wonders on piston engines. I have read more people doing it and not having a noticable gain, than the latter.

My experiance with my car has shown:

Make sure you have alternator voltage at the coils themselves.

Doing this made the biggest difference to my car. I'm not really in the market for an upgrade anymore.

Easy is MSD epoxy filled coils.

Next step is any of the wasted spark system. Still easy, you just end up with a 3rd coil, a neat looking setup on the dist cap, and a mounting spot for extra ignitors. OR the 2nd gen bit which in searching shows seems to be hit and miss. Some work fine, some just okay, some great, and some burn up ignitors?!

I think the dual ignitor setup makes the most sense to me. (3 coils- 2 leading, 1 trailing)

Bonus with the MSD coils you're talking about, if you want to upgrade to the dual ignitor, you've already got 2 badass coils to start with. Use a stock coil for the trailing and you're set.
