Is it constant, or only past ~6500 rpms?

Easy fix, have your radio going full blast all the time.

It's probably the low oil level warning buzzer. It goes off when you're a quart low and it's the most annoying sound you've ever heard. Top it off and the noise should go away. Another nasty warning alarm is for low coolant level. It sounds like a loud, tinkling bell. There is a warning light for that, but that does not mean the light is not burnt out or shorted. If nothing is actually low, then it could be the wiring to those sensors.

There is an electrical connection down by the driver's side of the radiator. If it gets wet then she'll scream at you for days. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but this is what I've found after a few frustrating instances. Last time it happened, I got a can of ignition wire dryer and hosed that whole area down. Kind of a shotgun approach, but what the hell, it worked!

I tell you though, I'd rather have an 18 inch phillips screwdriver slowly pushed through my skull than have to drive with that noise again! Come to think of it, there probably wouldn't be too much difference between the two. Good luck.

The sensor is in the side of the oil pan, so check the connection there.

i was wiggling the wires that come out of the coolant sensor and got it to stop, i think one of the wires may be breaking but thank god it stopped

ok blake, so the tinkling bell is low coolant, i think thats what mine is doing...i wasn't really worried about it cause it only does it about 50% of the time, and i was planning on tracking it down and cutting the wires to the buzzer pretty soon...but, if i can just get rid of the low coolant wires right at the sensor (the one on the top of the radiator i assume) then that should take care of my problem. I think its shorted out, or more likely the sensor is bad, but is it common for them to change the dinging pace, its starts kind of slow, then gets fast, then slows down again, there is really no pattern for this but its annoying. So far i've just been using sixstars solution

that'll give me something to do tomorrow i guess
