More Front Camber

Does anyone make camber plates (or have some used ones to sell) that fit the stock sized 1st gen struts? I've got Tokico HP Blues that I quite like, but I need more camber for track days.

I have the RB adjustable lower control arms. Not too pricey and easy to install. I have mine dialed in with about -1 deg camber, which is just about right for my car.

I looked into both of these manufacturers some time back when gathering parts to rebuild/upgrade my suspension and do not believe either can be used with Tokico Blue struts...unless the upper part of strut shaft is machined to accept their upper strut mount bearing.

I saw the T3 ones, didn't know what was involved with getting my Tokico's machined. I adjusted the stock hats for max camber and caster but it's not enough, I'm wearing down the outside edges of the front tires too quickly. Plus I have one of those RB strut bars that I want to install but the stock hats don't have long enough bolts.

Are any of guys running camber plates and adjustable lowering control arm? I am planning on buying both, but I have been thinking do I really need adjustable lowering control arms. The camber plates I know I need for sure since I am going to build some coilovers using the T3 weld on kit.

To me it would be an either/or but not both unless you need to push the tires further out for some reason but then steering linkage would need to change as well.

Have you called T3 or Ground Control to confirm that their Camber Plates won't work with your struts? My guess is that this is not an issue. On my race car I had Ground Control camber plates and I have used Tokico Illuminas and Koni 2810 racing struts with them. We may have had to make some spacers to make the struts fit the bearing but absolutely no changes are ever made to the strut insert. My car now has custom made plates but I am still using the Ground Control bearing.

Keep in mind that camber plates made to fit a specific application (an FB RX7) would be built to fit struts that also fit the same car.

I did this on my race car because using 2 inch "turn-in spacers" raised the spindle so much that it shortened the effective length of the control arm. On a street car with a 1" spacer adjustable lower arms are not needed in my opinion. You should be able to get 2-3 degree of negative camber with just the plates depending on how straight your car is.

If you are using stock diameter coil springs with those struts, I don't think camber plates would help as you'll run into the side of the strut tower pretty quick. If you have coil-over set up with 2" or similar springs then camber plates should work fine.

Ive got the GC plates on mine with tokico illuminas.
pretty sure you just tell them what shocks you have and they supply the bearing, or bearing and spacer to suit whatever you want.
id imagine t3 would be the same?

I have noltec ones that had two different size spacers, I am currently still running the stock wet struts with heavier oil no problem. I know you probably won't find noltecs but I know they have spacers out there.

I have extended lower control arms and camber plates, you can get crazy negative camber if needed, but I have them for increased steering angle without my tire hitting the frame
