Mileage on a 12A?

Well....I am going to look at a 1st gen tomorrow. I know it is an 84, I know its not a GSL but not sure which it is. The guy said he thinks it has around 206,000km on it. Just wondering if it is the 12A, is that alot of km for a 12A? I think that works out to around 115,000miles, somewhere around that. I am also gonna test compression. For it to be good and worth buying what sort of numbers should compression show for a 12A or if it is a GSL SE, what numbers for the 13b? I own an FC and I know on FC's it should be around 90+, is it the same with 12A's?

Thanks in advance.

later
-Justin

206kms on a 12A isn't too bad for an '84... Compression should be between 85 and 100, 100 being new I believe and 85 being the lower end of the "ok" scale.

Someone more experienced with this correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I seem to remember...

I had 186,000 miles before having to rebuild. compression should be between 85lb/in sqared @ 250 rpm.

I have 118,000 miles on my 12a, and it runs beautifully.
I auto-x and track day frequently, and it still inst even blowing smoke. I really think I could get 150,000 mile out of this motor.

Mine's at 136K and counting. Still runs great with no trouble. Of course now that I said that I'm gonna go and try and start it and it'll blow up.

I was told compression in the 70's is good?

See my sig.- Car starts easily every time and the only oil it uses is what the omp puts in the engine.

84 GSL, just turned 130,000 and going strong. Used as daily commuter, 24 mpg, 90% of driving at 80 mph.
