VCU RX-7 Engineering Project

I've been working on a first gen design project for my school for about 7 months now. I've managed to find a car and engine, donated to the project, and I'm finally at the build-up point. I need help from anyone who may have extra parts in the garage!

The car is in decent shape and the motor has a busted rear rotor & housing. Just a few main things I need to get rolling are a 5sp tranny, rear rotor, and rear rotor housing. As you might imagine, the budget is VERY tight.

Also, any advice you might have for us is appreciated! I'm starting from scratch on most things, designing intake runners, exhaust system, aerodynamics, and suspension from ideal calculations & theory.

Thanks in advance for the help. Check out our website to see photos of the car & engine.

Damn dude, wish I had some extra parts lying around. I have a friend that goes to VCU, and I'm only about an hour away.

zach, trying searching "carb mods" in this section.. youll get MORE than enough info to see what you need to do to mod the carb.

I looked through the carb stuff. Looks like I can get decent HP from the 12a, but I think I'd like to go FI 13b since I have so many parts for an S4 laying around, not to mention 88verts supply of parts cars.

Here's the plan as of now, any suggestions would be nice:

-FI 13B, custom intake manifold, same dynamic chamber & throttle body.
-S4 stuff: wiring harness, ECU, alternator, fuel pump.
-High pressure fuel lines.
-Aftermarket engine brace or adjust 12a brace for extra 20mm worth of engine.
-Apparently I have to use the GSL-SE oil pan. I guess the 86 & up oil pan won't clear.
-Possibly a fuel controller, S-AFC, maybe the old dial style to save some money.
-Custom header & exhaust system.

I've done the math on intake runner lengths and header lengths so I can build my own systems.
