It’s 1998 & I’m looking for a new car. I drove a BMW Z3, Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Celica, etc before I spotted the little Miata. I got in, took it for a spin, & my God, I was home. Felt almost like my 7s. Bought one the next weekend. Got Miata?

Cool! A 13B Miata! I am amazed that at any time you can find a FI Miata on ebay or many other sites. A very popular option for the little car, that's for sure.

i would love to have a rotary miata...always loved the miatas, but hated how whimpy and girly they are. with the right mods, they can be BEASTS!

i'll wait till a nicely done up one only costs $5000. Its either that or a "93-up rx7 when they are down to $8000 or so.

I was thinking about welding some shells together and tossing a bridgeported 12A into it since I don't see much future in selling salvage early Miata's or turning them into racecars.

They're flimsy as ****, though. Control arms, steering arms, etc., bend and break with aplumb. If anybody doesn't believe me, take a close look. The suspension on the Miata is about as sturdy as the steering on the '7. I've got the stack of bent FCA's to prove it.

Miatas are extremeley capable sports cars. Light, agile and balanced.

I picked up a 94 R-package (stripped sport model) earlier this year.

With 128 hp, it's no drag racer, but that little car kicks serious *** on any windy road.

And it gets 30 miles a gallon.

My point exactly... they are plentiful on the used market. I could point to a few more. If I could only have one, I go with the 7. As my 10 year old points out, Miatas are everywhere. The First Gens are cooler because they are unique!

That Miata on ebay with the 13B is in the new SCC mag. It looks pretty sweet other than maybe the wheels. The owner says in the article that it isn't really fast, but it handles like no other.
