Arrow main pulley bolt problems?

tearing my new 12a down to replace all the gaskets and stuff and the main pulley on the front has that 19mm bolt. I already busted a cheap *** 1/2 drive ratchet trying to get it off. Was wondering if it was reverse threads or something, just want to make sure I am loosening i not tightening it.

I've had good luck with a little heat on the front bolt, a small propane torch is enough.

I had to heat one up with a propane torch until it started smoking. Then my impact could loosen the bolt.

I dumped my 12a into the back of the family subie wagon and took it to my mechanic to buzz out the fr and rr nuts in all of 10 seconds with his impact wrench. Will do the same when I button it up.
I supplied the rear impact socket (Sears for $35) since its a bit non-standard. $$ well spent.

Sounds like a good idea......I actually have a shop within shouting distance of my house and never even thought of it! I am going to give him a ring!

Good luck getting them off.

THis is off topic but I thought it was a funny story. I had a 1957 ****** Wagon 4x4 that I was trying to sell. The truck was at my parents house about 5 hours away. It had a flat tire on the drivers side. My Dad was trying to get the wheel off to take it into the tire shop. He calls me to ask what the deal is this the lug nuts. He tells me he was about to get the impact out to get it off. So I tell him don't do that, he's been making it tighter. the old ****** have reverse thread on the drivers side. No idea what they were thinking when they did it like that.

You need to lock the motor so it doesn't turn and use a big *** pole for leverage. If you think the 19mm front bolt is hard just wait until you have to get one of the 54mm nuts offf the rear of a motor

use an impact as stated to remove the bolt. they are simple to remove if you go that route. sometimes heat works and sometimes is doesnt. i want to say that the factory installed some nasty threadlocker on the threads when they originally installed it...
