Little Axle LSD.

I was just curious, is there a way to get an LSD for the smaller axle rear-ends? As far as sourcing it from another vehicle?

do you mean the 81-83 RX-7s?
they had GSL trim level, meaning disc brakes+LSD.

I'm actually '79. And i'm really bad about remember model specific info in comparison to the years and all that crap. So, if someone could help me out, are there any differences between my diff and the diff. of the mentioned 81-84 cars, which very specifically exclude the two earlier years? Thanks for the quick responses, i love the club.

Pre 84 means it does not include 84 models. What you want is an S2 lsd. If you change out the entire rear end, the thread pitch for the brake lines will be different. Some 83 models require a driveshaft change too.

you need a diff and drive shaft from a 81-83 GSL.
direct bolt in,
if you want the disc brakes as well it will require a little more work. reflanging the rear brake lines to be exact.

Afaik, the ring the R&P sizes are the same for all of the 1st gens. The pinion flange size changed in mid 83 and the axle size changed in 84.
