Leaky RB intake

I currently have a racing beat inake and carb on my ride... i have had the intake for about three years but only in function for about six months of that time... when i put it on the car i have now i am having trouble with it leaking out the top side closest to the fire wall. I have torqued it down to the specs of the stock intake and yes i did use a new gasket.
any suggestions????

heres a REAL easy fix. get two freeze plugs, i dont remember the size, and install them.

you just put a little red RTV sealant on the edges, hold it as flush as you can(with the hole facing out), then take a socket and hammer and smack it in.

problem solved.

this has also been accomplished with various coins, but nothing is better than freeze plugs.

search freeze plugs.

20mm freeze plugs. Dorman part number 555-101 Average cost= $.50 each.
Sealer not required, but not a bad idea.

I used JB-Weld when I install the freeze plugs. Just a bit of extra insurance.

A small sledge and 3/8 extension and they were installed in no time.

Did you use coolant seals along with the intake gasket on the original install?

just block off the coolant passages with the 20mm freeze plugs as stated above.

Yep, O-rings. Since you're running the Holley intake, you no longer need the coolant ports to warm the intake, plug them.

FWIW i used the freeze plugs and some o rings just to be safe, no leaks at all, though it was a PITA to get the plugs in just right
