---Intakes---

Hi... I'd like to know what are the best intakes and/or companies that make intakes. This will be my next mod to my car.

Pics would be helpful, as well as price.

I don't really know at all. Any info on the different types of intakes/intakes systems would be nice. For instance, I don't know what "carb", or "IIRC" means.

Well yeah, I know carb is carberator, but what do you mean "going carb"?

Carberators are probably one of the main things I don't understand... maybe I'll just wait with my question till i get my haynes manual.

he is just asking if you have a carb or fuel injection.
There are no aftermarket for fuel injection but there is if you have a carb on your car.

I think he means intake like air filter, not like manifold, like K&N and others.

Um... ok, ok, yes, and i guess so.

Here's the deal... I don't know anything about manifolds or air filters except that air filters are cheaper. I've got a GSL-SE so yes, my car is fuel injected. Does that mean I can't get afermarket manifold stuff er what?

Ok, 'nother question. How is your intake better than the stock one that comes with the 13b enjine? Obviously more air flow, but how much?

The weber intake is very simple. It makes more power for a number of reasons. The intake is less restrictive because of it's shorter, larger and straighter intake path. The lack of the mass airflow flapper door and other ECU and emmision related items also helps. The carbureter is adjustable for a/f ratio and can adjust where the power is made in the rev range You may loose some low end torque with this setup because you can no longer use the secondary port sleeves, meaning the secondaries are open all the time. But overall, with a stock port 13b, I've read that this mod is good for an extra 20hp at least. With a street port, it's good for about 200hp.

If you want to stay with fuel injection, this mod is hard to beat!

Sounds like an awsome mod. That way I take it I wouldn't have to bother with putting on a carb?

Sweet. Maybe once i get some money I'll do that.

Ok... I don't really know, but I'm guessing that these "sleeves" you refer to controll when the air goes into the enjine. Correct me if I'm wrong. How do the Pinapple sleeves make it work better? You said that you were running your car with teh sleeves working "normal". Does normal mean like how they are usually used or adjusted?

Also, With more low end torque, and overall power, how much does the gas milage go down?

Never mind, I saw the figure on your thread. Very nice. I'll just take a day to drive down and get that done. Sounds like a winner.

Regarding the pineapple sleeves, be sure to read this thread. I now have them out, as well as the actuators and everything else with regard to the 5th an 6th ports.

Yeah I read Kevin's whole write-up. It was very informative and gave me a good idea of what it's all about.
