Kevin rebuilt it, but it is my engine out of the 84 SE widebody that all of you helped me pick out (remember?)
Don't know about pineapple, I'd forward the link to them but they have no email I'm aware of. Guess I could/should call them & at least let them know. Since this is a self-install, they'll likely not assume any responsibility. I'm not the kind to spend $$ going after things like this, anyway. Kevin's gonna do me right in the rebuild, since I bought the sleeves and asked him to install them. I'm going to pay at least for the new apex seals. It's not my fault, certainly isn't Kevins fault, so we'll consider it a tragic lesson and move on.

Oh no, I give you guys the CREDIT. I really wanted the black, but the right decision was made with the beige bombshell. LUV that silly car, it'll be as good as new by the weekend!

Uh,,,,right, Kevin??

Just a quick update: Picked up the car this afternoon. Running as good as before. I asked Kevin what he did about the sleeves, did he just leave them out this time, keeping the port actuators 'au natural'?
Nope. He took the actuators, shaft, sleeves, everything completely out and sealed it up. Ports (5th and 6th) are WIDE open ALL the time. He said with the heavier rotors on our 1st gens, the low end would suffer very little, if at all. Indeed, I had been driving with them wired open before, low and top end felt great to me.
I'm going to shut up now before I open the 5th and 6th port can of worms again.
Thanks for the comments, and check out the pineapple racing website in a few days. They'll be updating sleeve installation instructions to include loctite!
