So, did they bolt right in without any modification? Where did you put the 12vs required to make the LEDs go?

I have the same headlights just without the angel eyes. They are very nice, the quality is pretty good, and they look loads better than the stock sealed beams. They also have a replacable bulb that you can replace with a HID.

They say you can rig up a switch to work those lights. if you were to do that, what would be your method?

i pity anyone who thinks sleep eye conversions look cool/are worthwhile.

To the original poster, question: how is the brightness/light dispersion with the H4 bulbs?

They look a bit rice-y. I love it how everyone that is asking if you'll be doing a "sleepy" conversion have under 350 posts. Please, grow up kiddies.

Folks, you're flirting with danger here! you open yourself up to liabilities by changing oem headlights and taillights...even those plastic covers come into play here in Canada as we require day time running lights. just a little free legal advice here.cheers

No, not really 5 litre. Atleast in saskatchewan, all new vehicals have them. However, we have no laws stating they HAVE To be installed. There is a tonne of old vehicals on our roads here that dont have them, so its not entirely important. Im unsure if the RX7 even uses daylight running lights.. since the eyes are.. er.. down all the time?

I live right here in Regina Sask.
I drive with my lights down?
I've never had any problems, so i don't see it too be a big issue.

tobias, I had mentioned it because their was a case of a guy in town that rear ended another car...and as your aware it's historically been the person in the back that is 100% responsible...the Mountie identided that there was lack of lighting from the rear of the front car and split the guilt 50/50

Hmm..Please dont bash people who like the sleepy conversion. I dont think its "rice-y" if you have some exterior work done, as long as you have some performance to balance it out. Also, having a low number of posts doesnt really mean anything. I come on here probally 10 times a day to read posts and gather knowledge. I dont post much because I usually dont have many questions, and if i do i search first and can usually find what im looking for.

I dont actually have any pictures of the halos on with the sleepys set. I do have a picture of the halos on, and i do have a picture of the sleepys on. I used the Pivot Headlight Controller, which you can pick up for about $80.00

inside the glovebox is where the Pivot Headlight Controller sits.

VPTUNING i suggest you rig up a set of relays for each headlight, with your direct power source coming from your battery. You'll just be using your combination switch to trigger the relay off/on and not run your headlights through your 20yr old switch. Someone posted some results with a before and after using the relays. There was quite a noticeable difference using the same headlights. A search should find something, i'm too lazy tho....

It's all a matter of taste. I think sleepy eye conversions are worth while and are cool. Not to mention the effectivness of the newer H4 over the stock sealed bulb. But that's my personal ricey choice.

No one asked if they were ricey and what we do to our cars is our own buisness. Grow up? Yeah I'm a kid but I've been around rotary engines my entire life not to mention I've been on this site just about as long as you have.

Post count means nothing.

Back on topic: I've seen a similar kit without the angel lights and with a blue led center on the bulb but a little lower then where the new h4 bulb would be. It would make a good combination with a brighter white LED and can probably be wired to work with the short lights on.

Keep us updated on the sleepy headlights. I herd the 240 s14 kit works pretty well with our cars if you wanted to use a potentiometer type set-up to control the up and down range.

Good luck.

I dont know why all you guys are trying to say he is bashing you.... Whatever, sure its a matter of taste, or a lack thereof. I think sleepy eyes are very ricey, they are as useful as a five foot wing. what is the point? Do they add performance? Do they add any significant exterior modification? No, they make your headlights appear to be broken. Really, I am not bashing anyone. This is just my opinion, I think it just makes your headlights look like they are stuck halfway open....

I am sold on the projectors though. I dont like the angel eyes, I just got the basic projector housing. It has some gaudy little blue bulb that is supposed to make it glow. I never use it, whats the point? But it does allow much better lighting over the available sealed beam units. Sorry if I offended anyone, didnt mean to. Rice on....
