imsa/gtu sticker
That was originally painted I believw but if you send a pm to xlr8planet I believe he still has a decal or 2 that replaces it. Look in the 1st gen non tech section for his thread.
If the cost is reasonable for the imsa/gtu sticker I am interested. What model year were you planing to produce? I would want one for 1983 model cars. Are you planning to make it stick on the inside window like he original stickers or the outside of the glass for those of us with window tint?
I have the 1983 sticker recreated in my software. Although it's possible to cut out of vinyl, it looks like the sticker is really too detailed to work well as a cut sticker. So, I'll find out about getting them printed.
So... I'm wondering how accurate folks are willing to tolerate this sticker being. It seems that the original versions have some "dithering" or "grey scale" that is around the top of the rotor and around the date in the bottom of the rotor. I can easily create the sticker at a very affordable price without the grey scale, because the vinyl will be cut rather than printed. Any of you that are interested in these, let me know if you're in the "purist" group - and just really want one that's nearly indistinguishable from a factory original, or if you're fine with a black/gold "90%" accurate reproduction. I'll try cutting one and posting a picture so you know what you're getting. But in the mean time, before I spend too much time making things people don't want, your input is helpful.
Well guys, struggling with this currently. I had them priced out, they turned out to be around $10 each. One of my suppliers can only do back adhesive, not front. So, I tried cutting them on my vinyl cutter, and the resolution is just too high. It can't cut the fine details.
So, hang in there, I'm going to try one of my other suppliers. Stay tuned.

Dave, I'm in for one for an 1983 model - with 1982 big on the bottom like in my avatar.
. . .
To me, back adhesive would mean back of sticker, therefore it would stick on the outside of the window; unlike the original. I'm OK with either option but if it is on the outside I will want two so I have a backup in the event of fading/peeling.
Will the sticker be able to withstand being cleaned with common window cleaners like windex or car soap without running?
This may seem silly, but I'm asking because before you posted these latest updates I was considering making my own on an inkjet with Avery clear sticker paper in mirror print mode. My findings are that the durability is an issue if I do that.
Also, you had previously mentioned the gradient - I'm totally OK with no gradient, especially if this sticks on the inside of the window since the tint would make the difference insignificant.
Thanks!

I've seen vendors on the web that do "face adhesive", such as:
Face Adhesive Vinyl Stickers | Perfect for Parking Passes - StickerCutting.com
::: Chrome & Brushed Chrome Stickers & Decals | Circles & Ovals :::
I know NOTHING about any of these guys, but was just tossing this out there. OH, and I'd like to have one for 1985.

This might be worth pursuing, here's his photo of some stickers that 'Sip just got in from Australia:

OK, I drew up an improved 1985 design from scratch and if people want I can provide the full sized image for you to print out for yourselves on inkjet compatible vinyl adhesive sheet.
Nicely done! Can you make the "1985" non italic and outline only like the original? (just like RX-7 above)

How much a piece?
(Sorry, don't mean to be critical but I would like to have an original looking sticker.)
