What size is the nut on the differential that holds on the pinion flange?

Why do you want to undo that nut and do you know what you are getting into if you do? This is not one of those things you simply unbolt, then bolt back up.

I think it's a 22mm. You will need to tourque the nut back to 93 ftlbs.

thanks...whats the procedure? Keep the tires on the ground and torque the nut?

I suggest you read the rebuild proceedure for the rear diff before you remove and install the pinion nut. I'm guessing you are changing the flange instead of the driveshaft?

I've never done this before but isn't there a special crush collar that needs to be replaced whenever you re-torque this on the diff ? You should read FSM before you mess with it.
