Lightbulb I'm counting on You to come to my rescue

Ok i have experienced dramatic power loss, i checked for propper spark today and i came across something, when i took out the leading plug of the 1st housing, it gave decent spark, and was ok, but when i took out the leading plug from the 2nd housing i got great spark, but i noticed that there was a 8 inch blue flame shooting out of the hole, that i didn't see the 1st housing do. whats happening, is this normal, or not? Could this be a reason for my power loss, what does this sound like guys, please help me out, cause i'm not as wise as most of you...yet.

Thanks in advance, Matt

As I have never cranked my engine over with the leading plugs out and the trailing still hooked up, I can't tell you whether you should be getting a flame or not. If you are supposed to, you might want to check the trailing on the housing that isn't shooting a flame. Otherwise, you need to check the trailing timing. Either way, I would probably disconnect the trailing spark plugs if you are gonna be cranking with the leading plugs out, or vice versa.

Hmm, let's see. You were cranking the engine over to check for spark on the leading but it sounds like you left the wires on the trailing plugs connected. Wow, I always wondered what that would look like. Lucky you didn't burn something... so maybe you should be checking the trailing plug on the first housing for spark.

I really meant to help out but I can't stop laughing at the thought of flames shooting out of the block from the plug hole. That would scared the **** outta me.

Disconnect the trailing and test all 4 plugs for spark. Also, never test for spark close to the spark plug hole, or if you must do it that close, cover the hole with a rag to prevent the vapors and fumes that come out from igniting.

all plugs have spark,

could this be due to incorrect timeing, or a dizzy problem
