shift light help
ok.. ive posted a couple weeks ago about putting a led in the middle of my console, with a petrometer (sp?) to adjust when the light comes on to adjust different shift points for the light.
well me and my dad tore my dash apart today, and there was no redline buzzer on the back of the gauge console. i know its there becasue ive heard it before. and the back of mine looked alot different than the one in the haynes manual. we messed around with some stuff, and tried taking some wires, attaching them to the battery, and to the possitive/negative terminals and no sound came out of what we thought would be the buzzer. is there anyway to just have it run off of the dizzy somewhere where the tach gets its signal? i want it to be adjustable, thast the whole purpose, we went ahead and mounted the led into the console with alot of wire. is there ANY ideas on how to do this? its an 85. i know revhead had this done on his 83, but it seems to be different, the redline buzzer was on the back of the console (in the manual) but there wasnt one on the back of my dash, and once again, i know it works because ive heard it before. PLEASE help me!!!

when the dash came out.. there was nothing on the back like in the haynes manual.
if anything, i would just get a shift light that sits on the dash, im not a big fan of the monster tachs. plus, this is a WHOLE lot cheaper.

It IS adjustable. Theres a diagram on a website that shows how to. I have it at home though (at work now).
