I know that everyone on this forums first choice of car would be an rx7 or 8 or any rotary powered vehicle. But what if they never existed? What, aside from 7's & 8's, would your choice car be? And I don't mean a dream car like a ferrari but rather something within your budget that would replace your current rx7.
Personally I'd be driving a 3rd or 4th generation honda prelude.

Damn, that would make a rather nasty scenario, but my MGA or Land Rover would probably be moved up to daily runner (MG during summer and Landy for generally poor weather).

i'd be driving an RX-3. maybe a subaru impreza like my stepdad used to have, it has a unique engine too, although it is basically the same design.
Actually, a VW Golf diesel or Mercedes Benz diesel, then i'd run it on bio-diesel (vegetable fuel)

As a true to the bone Rotary enthusiast I would be driving another RE vehicle. First choice has to be a 1978 RX3 SP with a 13B and LSD rear end. Low to the ground and the original blue w/stripes color. My other choice would have to be a 1976 REPU, turbo setup with low profile 8" wide tires. And las but not list,a 1975 RX3 Station Wagon, again 13B with a mild port and a sound system out of this world. But then again, that"s just me.

Realistically speaking I'd probably be driving a Mk1 MR2, AE86, or E30 bimmer. I was looking at those vehicles before I found the rex. It'd probably be something similar ie light weight, manual, rwd, cheap.

You know now that I think about it, my uncle used to have a '71 Plymouth Hemicuda. I think he had it around the early eighties and when he'd take me and my brother to run it on an old airplane landing strip I would have a grin from earing to earing!! Honestly I think that is what got me hooked on fast cars. So I guess that being the memory that ultimatley got me into cars that should be the car I would drive....if only they didn't cost around 100 grand in great condition!
The other car that I have fond memories of is the "Smokey and the Bandit" version of the Pontiac Firebird! I had a highschool boyfriend that had one. His dad was a mechanic and that car's engine was a beauty! Actually driving around in my rx7 kinda remindes me of the long hood on that car!
And the reason I like the Honda Preludes is because I rented one to visit a friend that was studying at West Point in NY state, the roads are nothing but twists and turns and I couldn't believe how easy and fast I could take them. The ride in those cars are super nice compared to any other car that can handle winding roads like that. Plus, they're so cute (yes it's a girly thing to say, but I'm a girly girl dammit! lol!)

Savanna Rx-7
Sunbeam Tiger, MGB, or Midget, or a Ford Anglica (spelling)
Sunbeam tiger was same Idea as the Shelby Cobra, lightweight Euroroadster with a Ford V-8
MGB, Midget, well you know.
Ford Anglica (spelling) is a small car about the size of a Mini Cooper, but a friends shop jsut built one for the track 2 years ago, and they got 160 horsepower out of the engine NA. now this doesn't seem like much, but the anglica only weighs in at about 5~600 Kgs (about 1100~1300 lbs) so needless to say that thing is nasty quick

MR2's would probably be my choice for a fun car, too. Definitely a rear wheel drive vehicle of some sort. Realistically, though, I'd be driving my '04 Tacoma quad cab 4x4, (or a cool CJ or TJ Jeep).
