car

Well I might have said a 68 Chevelle SS as it was my favorite car as a teenager but I guess those are no longer in my price range. God, what happened to the prices, I remember when you could pick those up for $500 and case of beer.. I must be getting old :P

So....

I think a late 60's Karmann Ghia Convertable or maybe replace my 82 VW Scirocco as my playmobile of choice if I didn't have my 7.

My wife has a beautiful 81 Mercedes 380SL, that is a nice car too, that would be another possibility I guess. Hardtop and Convertable is nice for cold weather climates.

Or a build a kit car...

Wow, Old AND indecisive...I suck....hehe

if rx7's never exsisted then i would probally still have my 78 monte carlo. and at the moment i would more than likely be driving the monte carlo,79 trans-am or possibly a 200sx w/a sr20 swap(i currently have the car and am thinking about doing to swap)
if i hadnt gotten back into rx7's a year and a half ago i would probablly still have 95 civic hatchback and by now it would have a b20vtec in it.

Definitely some kind of Toyota or Nissan. My best friend has a MKI and MKII MR-2 and damn I love those things. If I could I'd probably get a 240Z. Then again, if it hadn't been for the FB I'd probably never have gotten into classic cars.

As vacum said, **** AE86's. I've driven one that was in great condition. It was kinda slow, and the handling wasn't anything special. If I had to describe it in one word, it'd probably be 'boring'.

Id probably still have my V-6 GLC as a daily driver, which means I wouldnt have crushed it to build my V-6 Samurai.
Without the RX-7 and Sammy sucking up my cash,Id probably also have my 403 Olds powered Studebaker done by now, as a weekend car.
Barring all that speculation,if I were to dismiss ever owning the RX-7 and pick another car to own/wrench on.......I probably would have just bit the bullet and bought a Supra.MKIV's can be got for a reasonable price and they are ridiculously easy to make fast(er).

easy...I'd be driving a 98 toyota celica as I think the new ones look like vomit...it would have a functional yet stylish wing somthing that matches the car...17*8 wheels...and a whole **** load of mods on the engine...as for the exterior I would want it to be a sleeper...very clean and damn nice...I would also want a custom interior...havn't decided what exactly it should look like yet but I want it...

Assuming non-rotary, I would most likely have a '71 to '73 Datsun 240Z (now worth over $15,000 in pristine condition) or a post-1976 to pre-1985 Porsche 911 coupe. Those can be had for between $15,000 and $25,000 in nice shape.

hard to imagine something not rotary, so yeah that works. In all honesty though, id probably still be driving fox body mustangs. I just can't get myself out of the eighties.

I would have to say the 2003 Cobra that was to be the replacement for my RX-7 untill realized that I could never sell her. So I already have the car that would substitue for the 7. I have to say that I love the Cobra and the RX-7 equally.

The other cars on my list would be one of the special edition Miata's made from 1999-2005. Something like the 10th anniverary edition or a Mazdaspeed Miata.

The other possiblities would be a 88-92 VW GTI 16V or a 88-92 Prelude Si 4WS or a 99-2000 Prelude SH or even a 1985 1/2-86 Mustang SVO.

So I have covered Japanese, German and American cars!

A world without rotary powered cars is very grimm... But, if it wasn't for our RX-7's.. I'd see myself driving a Nissan 300z

Only because I'm a 1st gen owner and happened to be in the 1st gen specific forum area at the time I thought of the question. But it could be extended to any generation rx7 owner.

The answers given by members have allowed me to better understand some of you a little better. There is some good diversity in what car we would choose if the rx's never existed. This turned out to be a cool thread!
