idle trouble
idle trouble
My car starts if you give it a little gas(understandable) but i have to rev it to about 6000rpms for almost 3 or 4 minutes before it will idle. After i get it to idle the first time it is fine until i let it sit over night or all day. I just bought it a week ago and i'm pretty sure it sat for awhile so i was thinking maybe it would get better over time after it ran, but does anyone have any suggestion to help me out with this problem.
Yes. My suggestion is, give it back to the bank robber.
Oh, and for the love of god, don't rev the engine to 6k rpm upon starting it and before it reaches operating temperature!!! Why don't you rev it to 8k rpm instead?

My '83 sat for 13 years before I bought it last year. It was doing the same thing as yours. I rebuilt he carb and that got it running well enought to start showing up all the other problems from sitting so long...
Good luck!
