Question Idle Mixture suggestions?

Hi Everyone.

I have a quick question:

Are any of you guys running Street ports or Bridge ports with Nikki carbs?

If you do,can you help with a rough figure on idle mixture?

I currently have smaller idle air bleed jets in,bleeding less of the vacuum of at idle.I allso have the mixture screw turned out quite a few turns.

My car is in my Signature

Thanks!

Karis

I have a RB street port, but my nikki isnt modified yet. Are you adjusting the idle screw also? What RPM are you idling at?

1stly : Thanks for showing interest!

Yip,my idle screw is turned out alott at the moment, allmost as far as it will go.

Well, with the mixture i have now,the lowest it will idle at is 1400 rpm (its more like stuttering, and shaking than idling) It will idle happily around 1600 or so.

If you refer to the pic i attached:

I swapped the jets marked on the diagram(in red!).This bleeds less of the booster signal at idle, and should make it bit richer.

So you want more idle fuel? Maybe time to drill the idle fuel jet.

i think it needs more fuel at idle.
Why i`am thinking so?

Each time i start it,i have to eaither pump the throttle about 5 times,or use the choke. This applies when the engine is hot or cold..

I`am not sure my assumption is right though!

I pump mine twice and if I dont it idles rough and low (500ish) and I have to give it a little to come up to the normal 900-1000 that it is set at

I had to do that with my bone stock nikki and 12a. As long as the idle is steady and there is no hesitation when you rev the engine from idle then the idle mixture should be okay.

Ok!the idle is steady(well as steady as a ported motor can be).Sometimes its hard to start it when it`s hot.I know for a fact that the compression is good on the engine.Thats why i`am thinking it should be a little richer.

Another reason is: It barely registers on the AFR gauge at idle.If i compare this to the AFR ratio that the Hitman is running,my idle is very lean in deed!
